Judson Althoff is a pivotal executive at Microsoft, serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of the company’s Worldwide Commercial Business. Since joining Microsoft in 2013, Althoff has spearheaded the sales, marketing, and commercial operations that generate the majority of Microsoft’s revenue, positioning the company as a dominant force in enterprise technology and digital transformation.

Career Journey and Leadership at Microsoft

Althoff joined Microsoft in March 2013 as president of Microsoft North America, where he was responsible for commercial and public sector customers and partners, retail and operator channels, and the consumer business across the U.S. and Canada. His leadership helped Microsoft achieve double-digit revenue growth in a $30 billion market and triple-digit growth in cloud services.

Rising through the ranks, Althoff became Executive Vice President of Worldwide Commercial Business and then Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing sales strategy, execution, and revenue growth across more than 120 national and regional subsidiaries worldwide. He is credited as the architect behind Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS), the company’s leading commercial growth engine.

Professional Background and Personal Profile

Before Microsoft, Althoff built a robust career in senior sales roles at Oracle and EMC. He joined Oracle in 2002, rising to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Alliances & Channels and Embedded Sales, managing strategic partnerships and channel programs globally.

Originally from Ohio, Althoff holds a mechanical engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He continues to impact the tech industry and community through board roles, including serving on Ecolab’s board and as co-chair of Seattle’s WE Day. He lives in Seattle with his wife and four children.
