Nigerian technology entrepreneur and Andela co-founder Iyinoluwa Aboyeji has resigned from the Board of Directors of Learn Africa Plc after six years as a Non-Executive Director.
Learn Africa disclosed the resignation in a regulatory filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), with the departure taking effect on September 7, 2026. The company did not provide a reason for Aboyeji’s resignation.
Aboyeji joined Learn Africa’s board on August 6, 2020, as the educational publisher sought to strengthen its engagement with digital learning and educational technology amid changes in the education sector.
During his tenure,c said Aboyeji provided strategic guidance and contributed to initiatives aimed at strengthening the company’s position within Nigeria’s evolving education and educational technology landscape.
“Learn Africa Plc, Nigeria’s largest educational publisher, announces the resignation of Mr. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, a Non-Executive Director from its Board of Directors effective 7th September 2026,” the company said in its disclosure.
The board also expressed appreciation for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.
From Technology to Education
Aboyeji’s six-year tenure at Learn Africa sits within a broader career spanning technology, venture capital and entrepreneurship.
He co-founded Andela in 2014, a company that built a network of African software developers for global technology companies. He later became a co-founder and managing director of Flutterwave before moving into venture investing and ecosystem building.
He is currently General Partner and Co-founder of Future Africa, an investment and support platform focused on mission-driven African entrepreneurs.
His departure from Learn Africa ends a six-year board relationship that brought one of Nigeria’s prominent technology entrepreneurs into the governance of an established education company.
For Learn Africa, the next phase comes as the education and publishing industries continue to adapt to digital platforms, changing learning models and the broader integration of technology into education.
The company has not announced a successor to Aboyeji in the board disclosure reviewed for this report.
