stc Bahrain has become the first telecom company in Bahrain to introduce Mastercard Click to Pay, a move aimed at making online payments faster and more secure for customers.
The company announced that the new service will allow users to complete online purchases without repeatedly entering card details or passwords during checkout. Customers can now use their saved Mastercard information through the Click to Pay system across supported online platforms.
The launch was carried out in partnership with Mastercard as part of efforts to improve digital payment experiences and encourage safer online transactions in Bahrainโs growing digital economy.
According to stc Bahrain, the service is designed to simplify e-commerce payments while reducing the risk of fraud linked to manual card entry. The telecom company said customers will benefit from a smoother checkout process when shopping online using participating merchants and platforms.
The company explained that digital services and online shopping have continued to grow across Bahrain, increasing demand for faster and more secure payment systems. The introduction of Click to Pay is expected to support both consumers and businesses as more services move online.
Mastercardโs Click to Pay system uses tokenization technology to protect card information during transactions, helping users avoid exposing sensitive payment details directly to merchants during checkout.
Industry analysts say the launch reflects increasing collaboration between telecom companies and financial technology providers as businesses compete to expand digital services in the Gulf region.
stc Bahrain said the service is now available to eligible customers and will be integrated into supported online payment channels and platforms.
