Google has officially launched Gemini 3, marking what the company calls “a new era of intelligence” across Search, the Gemini app, enterprise tools, and its new agent-first developer platform. The update is one of Google’s most significant AI releases to date, bringing major upgrades in reasoning, multimodality, coding, planning, and safe deployment.
The announcement, led by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, and Chief AI Architect Koray Kavukcuoglu, outlines the sharp leap from Gemini 2.5 to Gemini 3 as Google moves toward large-scale, agentic and contextual AI.
A new generation of intelligence with deeper reasoning
According to Pichai, Gemini usage has surged globally, with 2 billion monthly AI Overview users, 650 million Gemini app users, and 13 million developers building with Google’s generative models. Gemini 3 builds on this momentum by delivering far more advanced reasoning and a stronger understanding of user intent.
Gemini 3 Pro now tops LMArena with a score of 1501 Elo, delivering PhD-level reasoning in benchmark evaluations. It records major performance jumps including 37.5% on Humanity’s Last Exam, 91.9% on GPQA Diamond, and 23.4% on MathArena Apex.
Beyond text reasoning, the model excels in multimodal intelligence with 81% on MMMU-Pro and 87.6% on Video-MMMU, setting new standards for understanding images, audio, and video.
Google emphasizes that Gemini 3 Pro now behaves more like a “thought partner,” offering nuanced, concise responses without flattery or filler, while enabling deep scientific exploration, code-driven visualizations, and creative ideation.
Deep Think, multimodal learning and long-context mastery
A major highlight is Gemini 3 Deep Think, an enhanced reasoning mode that surpasses even Gemini 3 Pro. In testing, it achieved 41.0% on Humanity’s Last Exam and 93.8% on GPQA Diamond, and a groundbreaking 45.1% on ARC-AGI-2, showcasing frontier-level problem-solving.
Gemini 3 also improves learning through a 1 million-token context window, allowing it to analyze entire research papers, books, long lectures or hours of video. Users can convert family recipes into cookbooks, turn complex topics into interactive flashcards, or receive sports performance analysis simply by uploading a video.
In Search’s AI Mode, Gemini 3 powers new generative UI experiences like dynamic visual layouts, simulations and interactive tools, generated instantly based on user queries.

Building anything with agent-first development
Developers gain access to Gemini 3 across AI Studio, Vertex AI, Gemini CLI, and third-party platforms. It leads major coding benchmarks including 1487 Elo on WebDev Arena, 54.2% on Terminal-Bench 2.0, and 76.2% on SWE-Bench Verified.
The release also introduces Google Antigravity, a new agent-first development platform where AI agents autonomously plan, code, test, and iterate on complex tasks. Agents now operate directly within a browser, terminal, and editor—turning Gemini into an active collaborator, not just an assistant.
Planning capabilities and real-world action
Gemini 3 shows major advancements in long-horizon planning, topping Vending-Bench 2 by managing a simulated business over a year with consistent tool use and stable decision-making. From booking services to organizing Gmail, Gemini 3 can execute multi-step workflows autonomously under user control.
Built with safety at the center
Google calls Gemini 3 its most secure model ever, undergoing the broadest safety evaluations in company history. The model shows:
- reduced sycophancy
- stronger resistance to prompt injection
- improved cyber-attack protection
Evaluations were conducted with Google’s internal Frontier Safety Framework and external bodies, including the UK AISI, Apollo, Vaultis, and Dreadnode.
The Gemini 3 era begins
Gemini 3 is rolling out across:
- Gemini app for everyone
- Search AI Mode for Pro and Ultra subscribers
- Developers via Gemini API, Antigravity, and Gemini CLI
- Enterprises through Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise
Deep Think will follow after further safety review.
Google confirms more Gemini 3 models are coming soon as it continues pushing toward more intelligent, agent-driven, personalized AI.
