PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc has appointed Oghale Joseph Elueni as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Dimitrios Kostianis, who stepped down from the role on May 31 to take up a new position within the wider PZ Cussons Group.

The appointment, which took effect on June 1, 2026, forms part of a broader leadership transition approved by the companyโ€™s Board of Directors and disclosed to shareholders, investors, and the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

Elueni joins the board as Managing Director and CEO after serving as Managing Director of PZ Cussons Nigeriaโ€™s Consumer business since 2021. Prior to joining the company, he held senior leadership positions at SC Johnson and Procter & Gamble across Africa and the United States. PZ Cussons said he brings more than 20 years of experience in the consumer goods industry and extensive leadership expertise across emerging markets.

The Board said it is confident that Elueniโ€™s commercial experience, leadership capabilities, and deep understanding of the business will support the companyโ€™s continued growth and long-term strategic objectives.

His appointment follows the departure of Dimitrios Kostianis, who resigned as Chief Executive Officer and stepped down from the board after leading the company through a period of significant transformation. PZ Cussons credited Kostianis with helping restore the companyโ€™s profitability and positive equity position during his tenure, describing his contribution as instrumental to the business turnaround.

As part of the management reshuffle, the Board also appointed Ebenezer Oludare Elusakin as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. Elusakin, who has served as the companyโ€™s Chief Financial Officer since November 2024, previously held senior finance roles at Unilever, Diageo, and Royal Philips.

Commenting on the changes, Board Chair Ifueko M. Omoigui Okauru thanked Kostianis for his leadership and contributions to the Nigerian business over his 30-year career within the PZ Cussons Group.

โ€œHe will leave a significant legacy, having successfully led the business through challenging macroeconomic conditions and creating the foundations for a strong future,โ€ Okauru said, while congratulating Elueni and Elusakin on their appointments.

PZ Cussons Group CEO, Jonathan Myers, also welcomed the new executives and reaffirmed the companyโ€™s commitment to Nigeria, where the group has maintained a continuous presence since 1899.

The appointments are subject to ratification at the companyโ€™s next Annual General Meeting where applicable.
