Kin Health has raised $9 million in seed funding to develop an AI-powered notetaking platform designed to help patients better understand and manage information from medical appointments.
The startup’s app works similarly to AI meeting assistants used in workplaces, but focuses on healthcare visits. Patients can record conversations with doctors, after which the platform generates summaries, follow-up actions, and simplified explanations of medical advice.
According to reports, the funding round was led by Maveron, with participation from other investors including Town Hall Ventures and Eniac Ventures. The company was founded by members of the team behind HeyDoctor, a telehealth service later acquired by GoodRx.
Kin Health says its goal is to address a common problem in healthcare where patients forget or misunderstand important medical instructions after leaving appointments. The platform also allows users to share summaries with family members or caregivers involved in their treatment journey.
Unlike many AI healthcare tools currently focused on reducing administrative work for doctors, Kin Health is positioning itself as a patient-centered platform aimed at improving communication and treatment follow-through.
The company said future updates may include integration with electronic health record systems and other medical data sources to provide users with a more complete overview of their health history.
