Mastercard has teamed up with Jarir Marketing Company, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest retail and e-commerce players, to provide exclusive discounts and benefits to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using Mastercard payment solutions on Jarir’s platforms.

The partnership aims to support Saudi SMEs by reducing the cost of doing business online, encouraging greater adoption of digital payments, and helping smaller businesses compete more effectively in the Kingdom’s rapidly growing e-commerce market.

Through this collaboration, eligible SMEs will enjoy special pricing on electronics, office equipment, IT solutions, and other business essentials when paying with Mastercard. The initiative is designed to lower operational costs for small businesses while promoting cashless transactions and digital record-keeping.

Jarir, known for its strong presence in both physical retail and online commerce, brings significant reach and infrastructure to the partnership, while Mastercard contributes its global expertise in payments and SME-focused solutions.

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 places strong emphasis on empowering SMEs, which form the backbone of the economy. However, many small businesses still face challenges with high operational costs and limited access to competitive pricing on essential business tools. This partnership directly addresses those pain points by leveraging e-commerce to deliver meaningful savings.

The move also aligns with the Kingdom’s broader digital transformation goals, including the growth of e-commerce and the push toward a less cash-dependent economy. By making digital tools and equipment more affordable, the initiative could accelerate the digitalisation of thousands of small enterprises.

For Saudi entrepreneurs and small business owners, the discounts could translate into significant savings on laptops, printers, software, networking equipment, and other critical tools needed to run and grow their operations. This is especially valuable for startups, home-based businesses, and SMEs operating in sectors such as retail, education, and professional services.

The partnership reflects a growing trend of global financial players and large local retailers working together to support the SME segment, which is vital for job creation and economic diversification in Saudi Arabia.

Mastercard and Jarir expect the programme to roll out progressively, with more benefits and tailored offers planned for participating SMEs in the coming months.

This collaboration strengthens Mastercard’s footprint in the Saudi market while giving Jarir an opportunity to deepen its relationship with the small business community, ultimately contributing to a more vibrant and digitally enabled SME ecosystem in the Kingdom.
