MTN South Sudan has launched the zero-rated Junub Academy, a digital learning platform designed to provide free access to educational content and skills development resources for students and young people across the country.

The initiative, unveiled in Juba, allows users to access a wide range of courses, tutorials, and learning materials without incurring data charges when using MTNโ€™s network. MTN South Sudan CEO, Mr. John Oโ€™Shea, described the academy as a commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting national human capital development.

โ€œEducation is the foundation of progress. By making quality learning materials freely accessible, we are empowering the next generation to build a brighter future for South Sudan,โ€ Oโ€™Shea said. The platform covers subjects ranging from basic literacy to vocational skills and digital entrepreneurship.

The launch has been welcomed by the Ministry of Education and youth groups, who see it as a timely intervention to support learning, especially in remote areas with limited traditional schooling infrastructure.

MTN plans to continuously expand the academyโ€™s content and partner with local institutions to ensure relevance and impact.
