Cloudera has introduced Cloudera Anywhere Cloud, a hybrid data and AI platform designed to let enterprises scale production-grade applications across multi-cloud and on-premises environments from a single control plane. The announcement was made on August 19, 2026, ahead of the company’s Evolve 2026 conference in Singapore.
Anywhere Cloud is built to operate standalone or alongside existing data lakes. It delivers cloud-style provisioning, self-service deployment and automated management while preserving full data control and sovereignty. An agentic copilot supports workflow automation and allows teams to launch AI capabilities directly against proprietary data without relocating sensitive assets.
Leo Brunnick, Chief Product Officer at Cloudera, said enterprise AI has outgrown a public cloud-only model. “Organizations shouldn’t have to choose between innovation and control. Cloudera Anywhere Cloud brings the speed and flexibility of the cloud directly to enterprise data. This allows enterprises to accelerate AI initiatives while maintaining complete ownership of their data and intellectual property, all while optimizing the cost of their infrastructure, tokens, and business models.”
The platform breaks Cloudera’s data services into modules available through an Anywhere Cloud marketplace. These include data engineering, streaming, a Trino-based lakehouse engine, workflow orchestration and Cloudera AI. Certified partner engines and a software development kit allow customers to add additional tools. Interoperability is supported through Apache Iceberg, the Polaris catalog and unified APIs, reducing the need for custom integrations.
Anywhere Cloud enables organisations to:
- Accelerate private or sovereign AI deployments and agentic AI use cases, reducing project timelines from months to hours or minutes.
- Optimise workload placement across public clouds, sovereign environments and private data centres without moving or copying data.
- Maintain centralised zero-trust governance and compliance policies across environments.
- Deploy AI agents with governed access to sensitive data wherever it resides.
Early design partner ExxonMobil reported rapid deployment experiences during the pilot phase. Cloudera has also paired the platform with native GPU acceleration for Apache Spark 4.1, powered by NVIDIA’s cuDF library, to speed data preparation for AI workloads without requiring code changes.
Many enterprises face fragmented infrastructure, long upgrade cycles and strict data sovereignty requirements that slow AI adoption. Research cited by Cloudera indicates that infrastructure limitations have hindered operational initiatives for a majority of IT leaders. By bringing compute to the data rather than the reverse, Anywhere Cloud aims to remove those barriers while supporting the shift toward agentic AI systems that act autonomously on enterprise information.
Cloudera positions the platform as a response to growing demand for hybrid and sovereign AI strategies. The company will showcase further details at Evolve events and related industry conferences later in 2026.
