Flutterwave<\/a>, Africa\u2019s leading payments technology company, has partnered with Xoom<\/a>, PayPal\u2019s international money transfer service, to facilitate faster and more efficient cross-border remittances into Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration, announced on July 9, 2026, allows Xoom customers in approximately 160 markets worldwide to send money directly to bank accounts in Nigeria. Flutterwave handles currency conversion and local settlement, enabling deposits into accounts at major banks including Access Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Zenith Bank, First Bank of Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nigeria remains the largest remittance recipient in Sub-Saharan Africa, with personal remittances exceeding $20 billion annually. The partnership aims to reduce complexities such as foreign exchange constraints and settlement delays that have historically affected inbound transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership connects Xoom\u2019s international reach with Flutterwave\u2019s local infrastructure and banking relationships, supporting Nigeria\u2019s growing digital economy. The country\u2019s ICT sector is projected to contribute significantly to GDP in coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
