Mozambique\u2019s <\/a>National Institute for Information and Communication Technologies (INTIC) <\/a>has partnered with telecom giant Vodacom<\/a> to launch a major initiative aimed at enhancing data privacy awareness among schoolchildren across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration seeks to equip students with essential digital literacy skills, particularly in protecting personal information in an increasingly connected world. Through workshops, educational materials, and interactive sessions, the programme will be rolled out in selected schools, targeting both students and teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INTIC Director-General emphasised the importance of early education in data protection as Mozambique continues to expand digital infrastructure and online services. \u201cBuilding a culture of privacy from a young age is critical for safeguarding individuals and the nation\u2019s digital future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vodacom Mozambique, a key player in the country\u2019s telecommunications sector, will provide technical expertise, resources, and platforms to support the initiative. The partnership aligns with broader efforts to promote responsible digital citizenship and combat cyber risks in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials noted that the programme will initially focus on urban and semi-urban areas before scaling nationwide. It forms part of Vodacom\u2019s corporate social responsibility drive and INTIC\u2019s mandate to foster a secure digital ecosystem in Mozambique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholders welcomed the move, highlighting its potential to empower the younger generation amid rising concerns over online privacy and data breaches across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
