Acclaim, the developer of enterprise-grade voice AI agents built for highly regulated sectors such as banking, fintech, healthcare, and insurance, has formally launched its U.S. expansion and named the Miami area as its new global headquarters.

The move, announced Tuesday, marks a significant step for the company, which previously operated as Aiphoria. The Miami office will centralize all customer-facing operations, including sales, marketing, and customer success, positioning the startup to tap into South Florida’s growing tech ecosystem while targeting major U.S. enterprises that need secure, compliant AI for customer experience.

Leading the charge is newly appointed CEO Fred Fontes, a seasoned executive with extensive background in applied AI and large-scale customer operations. His arrival coincides with the U.S. entry and builds on a previously announced $34 million Series A funding round led by Ratmir Timashev, co-founder of Veeam Software and now an Acclaim advisor.

Acclaim’s platform focuses on voice-first AI agents that aim to “rehumanize” customer service. Rather than replacing human agents, the technology is designed to handle repetitive or complex interactions, such as sales support, collections, or routine inquiries, in a way that feels natural and seamless for end users while boosting agent productivity and satisfaction. The system emphasizes enterprise-grade security, with options for on-prem or private cloud deployment, a critical requirement in industries where data privacy and regulatory compliance are non-negotiable.

The timing is notable. Miami has steadily attracted AI and enterprise software companies seeking a business-friendly environment with lower taxes, access to international talent, and proximity to Latin American markets. Acclaim joins a broader wave of tech relocations and expansions into South Florida, though its focus on regulated verticals sets it apart from more generalist AI infrastructure plays.

For Acclaim, the U.S. headquarters shift is about more than geography. Regulated industries in the United States represent a massive addressable market for voice AI, where legacy IVR systems still dominate many call centers and customer journeys often feel fragmented. By embedding decades of domain expertise in banking and AI, the company is betting it can deliver measurable ROI faster than general-purpose large language model wrappers.

Details on exact hiring plans or the size of the initial Miami team were not disclosed in the announcement. However, the company has already begun posting roles tied to its Miami presence, signaling early investment in local talent.

The rebrand from Aiphoria to Acclaim and the formal U.S. launch come after what appears to have been a period of quiet product development and early enterprise pilots. With the Series A capital in hand and Fontes at the helm, Acclaim now has the runway to scale sales and refine its voice agents against real-world deployment challenges in highly scrutinized environments.

Whether Miami becomes a true AI hub beyond real estate and finance incentives remains an open question for the broader ecosystem. For Acclaim, though, the bet is clear: place customer-facing teams in a dynamic, growing market while building technology that solves persistent pain points in some of the most demanding sectors of the economy. The coming months will test how quickly its voice-first platform can gain traction against both legacy vendors and newer generative AI entrants.
