NGN Market is a Nigerian financial data platform that provides real-time insights into the country’s stock and foreign exchange markets. The platform aggregates live data on listed companies, market performance, and currency movements, updating every few minutes to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Our mission is to make financial information open, simple, and accessible to everyone, from individual investors and students to business owners and policymakers.

The Story Behind NGN Market to Make Nigerian Market Data Open and Simple

We started NGN Market because we were frustrated by how difficult it was to access basic market data in Nigeria. Every time we tried to track stock movements or check how listed companies were performing, we found ourselves switching between multiple websites, old portals, and sometimes even paid financial terminals.

It didn’t make sense that this information, data that shapes business decisions and investments every day, was either scattered, delayed, or locked behind paywalls. We believed it could be simpler.

So, we decided to build a platform that anyone could use without any sign-ups or subscriptions. We wanted something clean, fast, and accessible, a dashboard that updates every few minutes and shows live stock prices, market capitalization, trading volume, and currency movements in one place. That’s how NGN Market began.

At first, it was just an idea we worked on between other projects, trying to make the data refresh properly and display in a way that anyone could understand. When we launched publicly, we honestly didn’t expect much attention right away. But within the first two weeks, we recorded over 10,000 views. The feedback was overwhelming. People wrote to tell us how easy it felt to finally check the Nigerian Exchange without needing multiple tabs or specialized tools.

Our users came from everywhere: students trying to understand the market, small business owners following the naira’s performance, and first-time investors learning how the stock exchange works. That was the moment we knew this wasn’t just another data tool. It was solving a real problem.

NGN Market For Press Release 2

As the platform grew, something even bigger happened. Business Day, one of Nigeria’s leading financial newspapers, featured NGN Market in a story about tools changing how decision-makers perceive the market. They called our work “a tool that is changing how decision-makers perceive the market.” Seeing that recognition from such a respected publication felt like validation that we were on the right track.

We’ve always believed that open access to financial data can change participation in Nigeria’s capital markets. When people can see what’s happening in real time, it builds confidence. It brings new investors, helps founders make informed decisions, and ultimately strengthens the economy.

NGN Market is our way of making that possible.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but this is still the beginning. Our goal is to make financial information in Nigeria and across Africa truly open, not just for analysts or brokers, but for everyone who wants to understand where the economy is heading.
