OnePlus today announced a groundbreaking enhancement to its AI ecosystem, unveiling native integration of Google’s advanced Gemini AI assistant with the company’s proprietary Mind Space feature in the upcoming OxygenOS 16 update. This integration positions OnePlus at the forefront of AI-powered smartphones, delivering a new level of personalized, context-aware assistance to users.
Gemini AI, described as a comprehensive planner, assistant, and manager, will seamlessly interact with content saved in Mind Space, OnePlus’s unique digital locker. Through this integration, users can effortlessly organize their information—such as screenshots, notes, and articles—and leverage Gemini’s natural language understanding to complete complex tasks like trip planning or calendar management without manual searching.
“We are excited to bring a smarter, more intuitive AI experience to OnePlus users,” said the OnePlus spokesperson. “By combining Gemini’s robust AI capabilities with Mind Space’s personal content management, OxygenOS 16 delivers an assistant that understands not just commands, but the context behind them.”
The Mind Space feature enables users to capture on-screen content via a simple three-finger swipe or the dedicated Plus Key on newer OnePlus devices. AI automatically summarizes, tags, and organizes this information in a way that empowers Gemini to provide highly relevant and proactive suggestions, such as creating reminders and calendar events from captured data.
This enhanced AI experience will be available soon on flagship devices running OxygenOS 16, with the upcoming OnePlus 15 flagship expected to debut the integration at its China launch on October 27, followed by a global release on November 13.
In addition to Gemini integration, the OxygenOS 16 update will introduce AI VoiceScribe and AI Call Assistant features, providing call transcription, in-call translation, and quick summaries to enhance everyday communication.
